How to start a campfire in a puddle

Permalink 08/24/09 22:16, by elvis, Categories: Main

take some wood and make a bit of a platform

puddles have a tendency to get deeper, and bigger

take a big piece of pine bark, from a piece of wood about 6 or 8 inches in diameter and about 8-10 inches long

put lots of little bits of birch bark in it

and some wet twigs (as if there’s anything dry left when you’re trying to light a campfire in a puddle!!!)

light the birch bark

put another piece of pine bark, about the same size as the first one, over the lit birch bark

place this gently on the aforementioned platform

add some sticks and logs

add some more birch bark, just to be sure

enjoy your blazing puddle fire

ps - the water in the puddle get’s warm - you can take a nice mud bath
