Duct Tape Castle Block - New Olympic Sport

Permalink 06/07/10 19:37, by elvis, Categories: Fun

Tonight’s game was Duct Tape Castle Block.

Required equipment:

  • As many rolls of duct tape as possible, ideally full
  • One square castle block. Any small cardboard box should do. Six to eight inches square and two or three inches tall. Thereabout.
  • A floor.

Participants: Two silly people. Any age.

Objective:
Push the block or box to the other person, propelling it with the impact from the duct tape.

Scoring:
Box must touch opponent for a point. Opponent should not squish backwards, or block box with duct tape or other objects, although cheating is not actually discouraged.

Rules:
Tape must be rolled, not thrown. Launch position must be from the floor or playing surface.

Duration:
Until players are tired of laughing.

Variations:
It was discovered that the game worked better when only one roll of tape was used at a time. If you have more than one roll of tape in play, they tip over and obstruct passage of the one that’s supposed to be moving the block.

* Note that duct tape is probably a misnomer, but also a de facto standard term to describe plastic or vinyl tape that’s got some fabric/fibers in it. Often silver or tan, or even more colorful. Not used on ducts or ducks in our house.
