I’ve been wanting to go hiking for some time now, and it just wasn’t happening. Finally, March 6th, I announced to Amber that we were going to climb WalMart Mountain. We departed from the base lodge (the house) and trekked the two miles to WalMart. The trail was fairly difficult, with mud, water, ice, snow, and snowbanks slowing our progress.
When we arrived at the summit, we purchased milk, eggs, 12 dowels to support our sunflowers, and a candy bar for Amber. We then started back to the base lodge. At mile 1.75, we remembered the twine. At this time, a light snow was falling and we chose to forgo the twine. We returned safely to the lodge and fortified ourselves with hot chocolate.
An excellent hike.
