Many of the entertainment expenses for Americans are service-based.
- People pay high fees to watch worthless television programs
- People pay high fees for fast Internet access
- People pay high fees to use advanced cell phone features
- People pay high fees for mobile wireless Internet access
- People pay high fees for satellite radio
The trouble with this is that you never finish paying.:!:
Consider:
- Abandoning TV. Save a lot of money by subscribing to a newspaper or magazine
- Use the lowest level of cell phone service, or none at all
- Switch to the lowest level of Internet service. Consider DSL, it is probably the most cost-effective.
- Stop using the laptop wireless access, or use public hotspots (readonly access for security, don’t log into anything)
- Go the the library
- Rent videos
- Listen to CDs instead of satellite radio
